VOUS Girl to the max! Two nights and thousands of women of all ages and backgrounds unified in a sisterhood of strength. Definitely one for the books, it was an uplifting gathering filled with prayer, encouragement, and fellowship this past weekend. In a message titled “She Knows,” Pastor DawnCheré Wilkerson highlighted Exodus 15:1-2 to encourage women from all walks of life to stand firm in knowing that God is their strength and their song. As we travel through unknown territories in life, we can be confident that a trustworthy God goes before us, paving a righteous path. [rev_slider VGSZN12019]Even with life's mysteries, there are truths about God that a VOUS Girl knows for sure:
She Knows: "God is My Strength"
Often as women, we believe the title of "being strong” comes by overcoming challenging situations and trials by way of sheer force. However, the Bible helps us recall that true strength comes by no power of our own, but by understanding God will be our fuel and sustain us through our journey. With God, we know that we never have to fight our battles alone. He will supply us with a supernatural strength that will grow inside us as we continuously trust in him.
She Knows: "God is My Song"
The songs we sing become anthems in our soul. Music is the powerful vibration of air that our brains transform into melodies we never forget. As we lift up the name Jesus and worship him through our song we begin to invite him into the very core of who we are. In any situation, we can proclaim the joy found in Jesus when we simply sing. Trials do not have to be faced in silence because even when we don’t know what to do, we know we can sing God’s promises over our circumstances. There is power and renewal in our worship and praise.
She Knows: "God is My Salvation"
Full of the stories from the lives of some many people, the Bible's message speaks the same throughout, that grace and freedom are found in the savior. And so, we no longer have to seek others for rescue or approval. We've already been given the greatest gift of all. The seasons may change but God does not. He never gives up, he always saves. Even before we see it play out in our situation, by faith, we can declare that God is our hope and we have been set free of all wrongs by our one true savior. As we walk through the undefined there is one truth that we can always look to and that is knowing that God is alive in us and he is bigger than our situation. Even when we can’t find all of the answers, we can meditate on God’s word knowing that he will never fail. As women of God, we do not have to have life all figured out. Our creator already has the blueprint.
