“Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God's energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure. Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night.” Philippians 2:12b-15 MSG

God has deposited the necessary strength and vitality within us that is required for our spiritual and physical activity in the earth! This energy is his power—his Holy Spirit. Yes, the same power that was in Jesus and raised him to life after three days lives within you and me. This should give us confidence that we can live for him because he himself has set us up to win! God first demonstrated this power toward us, and then gifted us with the same kind.

The calling of a believer is to live out this energy for the world to see. Its’s not to be hidden or concealed—it should be revealed in our daily life. At our workplaces, we can express our salvation not just by our words but in our actions, as we serve people with a good attitude. At home, we can love our family with the love of God, that is unconditional. Whether we are at work, home, or anywhere else, the world around us should be fully aware of the God-kind of life we have received. The challenge to revert to our old ways of insecurity, strife, and malice will surely try to distort our focus, but we can overcome it every single time.

The calling of pastors and leaders is to help us live this way. To be grateful for this leadership and authority is to be grateful for God’s provision. Leaders carry the message of the gospel into every space, simply because we believe that every space needs to experience this beautiful energy, that is God’s presence. If this energy didn’t exist, our world would be suffering in a much greater way than it is right now, no doubt. However, the truth is that it’s here right now. We can receive it, experience it, and more importantly, share it with others!
